Fix42 is a set of 91 free web tools for files, data, PDFs, images, video and code, built and maintained by one developer. None of them need an account. This page lists every tool, grouped into 8 categories, with a note on where each one does its work.

Each category has its own page that explains what the tools in it are for, how similar tools differ, and which one to pick, with a comparison table. If you already know roughly what you need, the list below is quicker; if you are choosing between two tools that sound alike, the category page is the better place to start.

About where your data goes: 57 tools run entirely in your browser, so what you type or open stays on your device. 29 tools upload your file or text to the Fix42 server, process it there and send the result back; these are mostly video, PDF and other jobs that need software like FFmpeg or Ghostscript. 5 tools mix the two or call a third-party service, and the label next to each one says how. The privacy policy explains how uploads are handled.

Which tool for which job

The jobs people most often arrive with, and the tool that fits. Where two tools sound alike, the note says how they differ.

Open a CSV file that is too big for a spreadsheet: CSV Viewer. Searching and sorting happen on the server, so large files stay responsive.
Find the error in a block of JSON: JSON Formatter. For converting JSON to CSV instead, use the JSON to CSV Converter, which runs in your browser.
Turn a table from a web page or document into a spreadsheet: Table to Spreadsheet. Accepts HTML, Markdown, JSON and ASCII tables.
Combine several PDFs into one: PDF Merger. To go the other way and pull pages out, use the PDF Splitter.
Make a PDF small enough to email: PDF Compressor. If you only need a few pages, splitting them out first often saves more.
Sign a PDF: PDF Signer. Runs in your browser. For just a signature image, use the Signature Drawer.
Open iPhone photos on a computer that cannot read them: HEIC to JPG. Converts in the browser, so the photos are not uploaded.
Change an image between PNG, JPG and WebP: Image Converter. For a vector version of a logo, use the SVG Converter instead.
Turn a CSS or JavaScript animation into a video: HTML to Video. Use HTML to GIF when the destination only accepts images, like a GitHub README.
Shrink a video for a chat app or upload limit: Video Compressor. To keep only the sound, use Video to MP3.
