Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They help websites remember information about your visit, which can both make it easier to visit the site again and make the site more useful to you.

How We Use Cookies

Fix42 uses cookies to:

• Remember your cookie consent preferences
• Analyze how you use our website
• Provide personalized advertisements through Google AdSense
• Improve your overall experience on our site

Types of Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They include:

• Cookie consent: Remembers whether you've accepted our cookie policy
• Session management: Helps our tools function properly during your visit, for example remembering a large CSV file you are viewing so you can return to it
• Sign-in (only if you sign in): Google Firebase Authentication keeps you signed in using your browser's storage. Signing in is optional

Analytics Cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site:

• _ga: Distinguishes unique users
• _ga_*: Used by Google Analytics to persist session state
• _gid: Distinguishes unique users

We also use Mixpanel for product analytics, including session replay (recordings of on-page interactions such as clicks and scrolling) and heatmap data:

• mp_* (localStorage): Stores a device identifier and session state so Mixpanel can distinguish visits
• Mixpanel only loads after you click "Accept" on our cookie banner. If you decline, it is never activated

Advertising Cookies

Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet. These cookies are:

• Used to measure ad performance
• Help show relevant ads based on your interests
• Prevent the same ad from being shown repeatedly

Managing Your Cookie Preferences

Browser Settings

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can usually:

• View what cookies are stored on your device
• Delete cookies
• Block cookies from specific sites
• Block all cookies

Cookie Consent Banner

When you first visit our site, you'll see a cookie consent banner that allows you to:

• Accept: Allow analytics and advertising cookies
• Decline: Only essential cookies will be used. Analytics (Google Analytics, Mixpanel) and advertising cookies stay disabled

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies stay off until you click Accept. Elsewhere they are on unless you click Decline. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's cookies and storage in your browser, which brings the banner back.

Note: Disabling cookies may affect some features of our website, but our tools do not depend on analytics or advertising cookies, so their functionality will remain intact.

Google AdSense and Analytics

We partner with Google for analytics and advertising. Google may use information about your visits to this and other websites to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.

You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of other vendors' cookies at aboutads.info. Google explains how it uses advertising cookies in How Google uses cookies in advertising.

Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies may be set by third-party services that appear on our pages, including:

• Google Analytics: Website analytics
• Google AdSense: Advertising platform
• Mixpanel: Product analytics with session replay and heatmaps (activated only after consent)

These third parties may use cookies to track your activity across different websites. Please refer to their privacy policies for more information.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
