Everyday jobs that do not fit anywhere else: opening a big CSV, making a QR code, counting words, converting units, or reading text aloud.
Files and data
The CSV Viewer is for CSV files that are slow or impossible to open in a spreadsheet. It uploads the file to the Fix42 server, which does the searching and sorting, so your browser only has to show one page of rows at a time. For small CSV files you want to turn into JSON, the JSON to CSV converter in Developer Tools runs locally instead.
Codes, text and audio
Use the QR Code Generator for links, Wi-Fi details or text that people will scan with a phone, and the Barcode Generator for product codes like EAN-13 and UPC-A or for Code128 inventory labels. The Word Counter and Text Case Converter are quick text helpers. Text to Speech reads text aloud and lets you download it as audio; the voices run on the server.
QR codes and barcodes are not interchangeable. A QR code can hold a full URL and scans from any angle with a phone camera. A linear barcode holds a short number and is what checkout scanners and stock systems expect. If a retailer asks for your product barcode, they mean a registered EAN or UPC number; the generator draws the barcode for a number you already have, it does not issue one.
The Password Generator runs in your browser and does not send the passwords anywhere. The Signature Drawer makes a transparent PNG of your signature; to sign a PDF directly, use the PDF Signer.
Checking things
IP Address Lookup shows the location and network for an IP address. It asks a third-party service, ipapi.co, from your browser. The Webpage Size Checker fetches a page from the Fix42 server and breaks down how much each kind of resource weighs. The Unit Converter, Pomodoro Timer and Certificate Generator all run locally; the certificate tool can make one award or a batch from a CSV list of names, for classes, events and teams. It is not for official credentials.
