A Guide to Creating Great Certificates

Choosing the right template

The six templates each set a different tone, and the tool automatically suggests a matching title when you pick one. Classic and Elegant lean traditional with double borders and serif type, making them a natural fit for graduations, honor rolls, and formal recognition. Modern and Corporate use cleaner lines that suit training completions, employee-of-the-month awards, and anything tied to a company brand. Creative brings rounded, colorful borders that work well for children's awards, club activities, and community events. Pair your choice with one of the five color themes so the certificate matches your organization's palette, and upload a logo to reinforce that it comes from you.

Writing the wording

A certificate reads best when the achievement line is specific. Instead of a generic phrase, name what the recipient actually did ("for completing the 40-hour First Aid course" or "in recognition of five years of service") so the award means something to the person receiving it and to anyone they show it to. Keep the recipient's name prominent, add a real signer name and title in the signature panel, and either draw or upload an authorizing signature. These details are what turn a blank template into a credible record of recognition you are issuing.

Generating awards in bulk

When you are recognizing a whole class, team, or department, switch the Recipient section to Bulk mode and paste one name per line. The tool keeps every other field (template, title, achievement text, date, logo, and signature) identical across the batch and produces a single multi-page PDF, with one A4 landscape certificate per name. This saves you from editing and exporting each award by hand while keeping the whole set visually consistent for printing or emailing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create certificates in bulk?

Switch to "Bulk (CSV)" mode in the Recipient section. Paste your list of names (one per line), and click Download. All certificates will be combined into a single multi-page PDF, one per name, with every other detail kept identical.

What size are the certificates?

Certificates are generated in A4 landscape format (297mm x 210mm), the standard size for professional awards and easy to print on a home or office printer.

Can I add my organization’s logo and signature?

Yes. Upload a logo (PNG with a transparent background works best, under 2MB) in Organization Details, then either draw a signature directly on the canvas or upload a signature image in the Signature & Authorization section.

Which template and color should I choose?

Classic, Academic, and Elegant suit formal awards like graduations and honor rolls; Modern and Corporate fit training completions and workplace recognition; Creative works for children’s and community awards. Picking a template auto-suggests a fitting title, and the five color themes let you match your brand.

Is my data saved anywhere?

No. All certificate generation happens in your browser using client-side rendering. Your names, logo, and signature never leave your device and nothing is stored on our servers.

Can I use these certificates for official purposes?

They are designed for recognition you are entitled to give: course and training completions, employee and volunteer appreciation, event participation, and academic or sports awards. For legally binding or accredited credentials, issue them through the appropriate governing authority.
